Meet the Machines

This past weekend we went to Meet the Machines with Uncle Kent, Aunt Krista, Parker and Sydney! It was so much fun!!

They had all sorts of construction equipment, fire trucks, police cars, and even a helicopter. We got to climb on all of it and pretend to drive them!!! I do not know who had more fun, the kids or the parents!
While I was there, I even got my own hard hat with my name on it!! It sure was a fun day!!

I think the warmer weather is finally here and with it came a busy week! Xavier turned 2 1/2 this week!! He is getting to be such a big boy (and yes, he knows it!) After 2 days of trying to get the lawn mower started, I finally got the back yard cut. I decided that husbands should not be allowed to be deployed in the Spring/Summer because they need to be home to do all the outside stuff. Do you think we could get that law passed? On Sunday we went to Jeff & Sarah's softball game. Jeff got an RBI scoring triple (WAY TO GO!) but it still wasn't enough for them to win. Regardless, we had a good time and Xavier loved seeing and playing with Caleb and Tyler.

rollover training

So there has been a lot of deaths in the military due to Hmmvw's rolling over due to all the extra weight that has been added from the up armor. The army has created this new training for us were we actually get to be rolled over in order to train for what to do in case of emergencies. Here are some pics and a video of what happens with this training. We are weight down with all the gear we have to carry. I now know how it fells to be inside a dryer.....lol. I have been really busy and have not had time to post. Will post more when time permits. Enjoy the Pics.

Still Hibernating in April

We both could not be more bummed that the weather was yucky this weekend. What is up with snow in mid-April? That is just not right!! The only good thing about the snow was I couldn't cut the grass...the bad thing...the grass really needs cut!
Even though it was a cold weekend, we tried to make the most of it. Pa-Paw came over for a visit on Sunday and we played a lot with cars. What could be more fun?
Here's a picture of Xavier in the tub Sunday night. We are practicing swimming for when we get to open the pool! Xavier will look out in the backyard now and ask if he can go swimming. Soon X, soon.

GETTING SETTLED IN

Well, I am getting settled in to the Army routine. Yesterday we went to the gernade range then the rifel range. How cool is it when you get to blow stuff up in the morning with live gernades then shoot rifels all afternoon . This day was one of the better days in the army. The day before we were issued all kinds of cool new gear. I am assigned to work in the Tactical Operations Center (TOC.) This is the head shead. The only problem with this is the long hours. Last night after getting home from the range, I was stuck working till 1:30 in the morning. PT states at 0500 so the 0430 wake up comes really early. So here is a picture of the area I live in. The second one is of the bay as a whole. My bay has 10 sets of bunk beds so 20 soldiers per bay. More to come later.

Free Prescriptions!

Xavier and I both went to the doctor on Wednesday. We both have sinus infections…yuck! (Yes, we were both sick for Michael’s last weekend at home)
But, did you know that Amoxicillin is on the Schnuck’s free prescription list? I did not know until now either. I got both of our prescriptions filled for FREE!!! Can’t beat that!

getting ready to start

I have arrived in Indiana for training. I have not had time to upload any pictures yet but some will be coming soon. After two days here We are starting to adjust. We have completed all of our paperwork to claim we are fit for further duty. We start more training tomorrow. Wake up is at 0400, pt (physical training) starts at 0445. This makes for a real early morning. I HATE MORNINGS!!! Training will last till approximately 1700 (5pm) everyday. This is going to make time here even longer, but it will keep us busy and tired. More to come when training starts.

Spring is finally here! (4/7/08)

We are so excited that the weather is finally getting warmer so we can play outside! Today after Mom got home from work we went outside and did not come in until almost bed-time. We even ate dinner outside on my new picnic table!!

I love swinging on my swing-set, driving my car around, blowing bubbles, throwing the ball to the dogs, and coloring with my sidewalk chalk!

The final good-bye

Daddy got to come home for a few days the 1st weekend in April before leaving. We went to Desoto, MO. for another ceremony on that Saturday. This one was much smaller since it was only for his unit (735th). It was a nice ceremony, buy I loved all of the big trucks the best!!
Sunday we drove him back out there, where we watched him get on a bus and leave. Mom and I both cried. Daddy is now in Indiana getting more training. From there, he will be going to Germany and then to Kosovo.

We are not sure the next time we will get to see Daddy, but Mom said it may be for my 3rd birthday in October! We will just have to wait and see!

Happy Birthday Mom!

For Mom's Birthday, Hannah (and her mommy, Julie) took Mommy and I out! It was too cold for the park, so we went to an inside play area and to lunch! It was a fun day!! Mommy liked it because she got to visit with Ms. Julie...but talk is cheap. Look at these rides! I'm telling you, she is missing out!!
